Prepare and demolish

Work is well underway at the Brussels Conservatory. Inside, the rooms have been stripped bare, the floors protected and the remaining furniture removed. The red chairs from the concert hall, for example, have been removed and are ready for their second life at various cultural organisations.

Demolition of the old library building is also progressing well. Meanwhile, the necessary preparations are being made for the next phase: the construction of the new wing, which will house the chamber music hall, rehearsal hall and masterclasses. Micropiles are being cast in the courtyard as the foundations for the tower crane that will be erected there in a few weeks’ time.
